In honor of Women's History Month, Black Bottom Archives is partnering with Black Her Stories to preserve and share the legacies of Detroit’s Black Matriarchs by calling for submissions of photos and videos of the Black women who have inspired, shaped, and protected you. We welcome submissions that document the grandmas, aunties, next-door neighbors, and sister-friends whose existence enriches our lives. We are accepting submissions of photos and videos until April 17, 2025. Please include the following information in the caption if known: 1) Location(s) 2) Approximate year(s) or decades 3) Names 4) Description: 5) Instagram account handle to be tagged, if desired All submissions will become part of the Black Bottom Archives (BBA), where they will be preserved and made available to the public.
